NelcByte Tools is a set of everyday utilities for developers, writers, students and anyone who needs a quick answer without creating an account or sending a file to a stranger.

What this site is

There are ten tools here: an image compressor, QR code generator, DNS checker, JSON formatter, password generator, UUID generator, Base64 encoder, word counter, age calculator and BMI calculator. Each one is a single page. You enter your input, the tool does the work, and you copy or download the result.

The site is deliberately small. There is no dashboard, no workspace, no saved history and no onboarding flow. Open the page, finish the task, close the tab.

Who runs it

NelcByte Tools is built and maintained by NelcByte, a hosting and digital solutions company registered in Zimbabwe. The main NelcByte site at nelcbyte.com covers hosting, websites and related services. This site is the free tools side of the same workshop.

How it works

The tools are plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Most input is processed entirely in your browser. When you format JSON, compress an image, generate a password or calculate an age, the work happens on your device and your input does not travel to NelcByte.

The DNS Checker is the one exception. It sends the domain and record type directly to Cloudflare's public DNS-over-HTTPS service. NelcByte does not receive the query, but Cloudflare does. The privacy policy explains that request and the limited data involved.

The site loads like a normal web page, so NelcByte's servers may record standard request logs. The contents of the other tool inputs are not sent to those servers.

What we are trying to do

  • Be useful first. Each tool should solve the job without a detour.
  • Be honest. No invented testimonials, no fake user counts and no claims that the tools are something they are not.
  • Respect your data. Process inputs locally, collect as little as possible and explain what is collected.
  • Stay readable. Clear labels, plain language and pages that work on a phone.
